| Location: |
Situated on the main road towards the western end of the village. |
| Description: |
St Peter’s is a friendly, beautiful church for all generations. It has been at the heart of this village for almost 1,000 years. Our worship incorporates a rich variety of styles to reflect modern tastes and our Anglican heritage. Children and families are always welcome. We hold a lively family service once each month and provide a play corner provided at all other services.
In addition to our traditional services, and jointly with St Giles, Great Orton, we hold café worship, called “CRUNCH”, in Great Orton village hall on the first Sunday of each month during school term time. It is a popular, lively, interactive event based around eating supper together. Both worship and food are suitable for all ages. All are welcome. There is no charge and no need to book.
We also have very close links with Kirkbampton CofE Primary School in the village.
St Peter’s is part of the wider benefice of Barony of Burgh which also incorporates Aikton, Kirkandrews on Eden with Beaumont and Grinsdale, Burgh-by-Sands and Great Orton.
