Grange in Borrowdale Holy Trinity

Location: NY 252 175A
Description: The driving force behind Holy Trinity - built 1860 was Miss Heathcote of Borrowdale Gates - whose photograph may still be seen in the church porch. The porch and vestry are a later (1882) addition. The most striking feature is the prevalance of Norman style dogtooth decoration, in both wood and stone. Two panels in the Sanctuary bearing the Ten Commandments were painted by Miss Heathcote herself. The church has disabled access.
