Threlkeld St Mary

Location: NY 321 253
Description: There is recorded the presence of a priest in Threlkeld since 1220 AD. The present church building dates from 1777 and incorporates part of an older building, particularly the bell-tower which houses a bell that is at least 500 years old. The church was restored in 1911 and includes tiles made at Threlkeld Quarry. A warm welcome awaits everyone at this beautiful and charming church.
