Crook St Catherine

Location: 4 miles north west of Kendal on the B5284 travelling towards Bowness. DS451951
Description: The present church is late perpendicular in style and was consecrated in 1887. There was an earlier church dating back to the 1500's of which just the tower remains on the nearby ridge. The site of the first church in Crook dating from 1300's remains unlocated, but the bell from that date still hangs in the tower of the presetn church.
