Helsington St John

Location: 3 miles west of Kendal, left off the Brigsteer Road down a narrow track adjacent to a popular view point of the south lakeland hills. SD488889
Description: Built in 1726 and substantially restored in 1858. Simple rectangular building with westmorland slate roof and a bell-cote on the western end. It has a central aisle with plain pews. There is a small porch extension to the south west and kitchen and toilet extension to north west. Toilet suitable for wheelchair use. We are part of the Lyth Valley Team of Churches (An informal Grouping of 8 local Anglican Churches)
1st Sunday: no service in church
4pm 'T @ 4' an informal family time at the home of Tim Harmer, Priest in Charge
2nd Sunday: 9.30am Holy Communion (Common Worship)
3rd Sunday: 3pm Evening Service
4th Sunday: 9.30am Holy Communion (Common Worship)
5th Sunday: Joint Service together with the other Lyth Valley Team Churches
