Cockermouth Harmonic Society - Forthcoming Events

The Creation – Celebrating 150 Years of Choral Singing in Cockermouth In April 1867 a group of civic-minded Cockermouth citizens met to found a new musical society: Cockermouth Harmonic Society. The first concert took place later that year. To celebrate the 150th anniversary of our creation, Cockermouth Harmonic Society will be performing The Creation, by Joseph Haydn on 8 April 2017, 7.30pm at Christ Church, Cockermouth. This auspicious occasion will be led by Ian Thompson, the Society’s Musical Director, conducting the choir, soloists Tracey Penwarden, soprano. Alex Banfield, tenor and Brian Bannatyne Scott, bass, and the Lonsdale Baroque Ensemble. Tickets for the concert will cost £15, but are free for full-time students, and there is a discount for parties of 6 or more. Tickets are available from Billy Bowman’s music shop in Cockermouth.
