Process of appointing new Bishop - public meeting

The Vacancy in See Committee is holding a Public Hearing on Wed 12th November at 7.30pm.

The purpose of the meeting is for the Vacancy in See Committee to listen to views about the needs of the diocese in relation to the appointment of a new Bishop of Carlisle.

The meeting will be in Carlisle, in St Cuthbert's Vestry (or in St Cuthbert's Church if the attendance exceeds 70). In attendance will be the Archbishops' Appointments Secretary, and the Prime Minister's Appointments Secretary.

All are welcome.

There is parking in the Church House Car Park, and in the nearby Viaduct Estate Car Park, which is a "Secured by Design" Car Park.

If you are unable to come to the meeting but would like to express an opinion, you are warmly invited to write to the Ven George Howe, who is Chair of the Vacancy in See Committee:
