Back To Church Sunday

September 27th 2009

What is it?

It is a designated Sunday when as many people as possible are invited back to church. An invitation from you is the best way to get someone else to come to Church. And so we want everyone, from laity to Bishops to take the lead and invite friends. Already half a million invites are now in circulation and the Bishop of Penrith is asking all our congregations to get on board and make the best of this high profile event. Watch out for the national press release coming soon. Already three thousand churches across Britain have signed up and it has even spread to the USA, France and New Zealand. In our Diocese, one Church (Kells) saw its congregation increase by 22 in the services on Back to Church Sunday, and 16 of these have been on at least two further occasions.

What does it cost?

Not much since the diocese has already paid your joining fee! Simply order your invites and posters at cost price. Be sure to also ask for the excellent Back to Church DVD (just 5 minutes) to show to your PCC and congregation.
