Flood Recovery Fund

Parishes and people wishing to make a donation to help those affected by the floods can do so via the Cumbria Community Foundation.

The Cumbria Community Foundation, based in Cockermouth, have set up a fund to help those affected by the recent flooding. A total of £350,000 has already been donated.

The fund provides financial help to those who have been worst hit by the floods and grants will initially made to the elderly, the disabled and families with under 5s. After the Carlisle floods of 2005, the fund helped people with clothing, bedding, fares, toys etc.

Donations can be made via their website www.cumbriafoundation.org, or at any branch of the Cumberland Building Society, Furness Building Society or HSBC bank.

Anyone wanting information about the appeal and who and what will be eligible for funding should
log on to Cumbria Community Foundation’s website www.cumbriafoundation.org or call the
dedicated phone line 01900 820827.
