House for Duty Minister, Caldbeck

This is a new post in a recently created benefice of six parishes in an area of outstanding beauty. As House for Duty posts go there can be few better than this! The House for Duty Minister will live in the village of Caldbeck in the northern Lakeland fells and will have a primary responsibility for St Kentigern’s church, while also being part of a Ministry Team working with the incumbent across the benefice, comprising Castle Sowerby, Sebergham, Westward, Rosley and Welton. The House for Duty post is for Sunday and two other days each week, or equivalent hours.

The incumbent and PCCs are looking for a Priest who will •have experience and understanding of rural ministry •be at their best in a Team setting and able to share ministry with both ordained and lay colleagues •be attracted to work in churches of central and open evangelical tradition •bring strong and energetic leadership to the lively church in Caldbeck •be a diligent pastor and encourage others in their pastoral care •help the churches to continue to grow in numbers and in depth of spirituality Please contact the Archdeacon of Carlisle for further information or an informal conversation about this post.
