The Church stands in the centre of the village of Great Salkeld, nestling amidst beautiful countryside on the western slopes of the Eden Valley

Built of local red sandstone, the Church stands proud as the village centrepiece. The original church building probably dates from AD 880 when the body of the Northumbrian Saint Cuthbert was brought from Holy Island and rested here during a seven year wan

The present church was built in the mid 1860's and consecrated in 1866. This was at the instigation of the MacLean family of Lazonby Hall. The architect was Anthony Salvin. It replaced an earlier medieval building of which little record remains. 1167 is

Renwick with Croglin
On the northern edge of Renwick, on the east side of the road to Croglin.

All Saints is a small, friendly church, serving the local community and open to everyone throughout the year – whether to attend a service or to just sit and have a quiet time with God.

The present Church, constructed of local red sandstone with a slate roof, is possibly the fourth one on the site. It was built in 1845 to a simple design of the then incumbent, John Watson, replacing an earlier one of 1733. Inside it is pleasantly light and airy.
