This unique 1861 building is the first parish church to stand on this site or anywhere in Grange village. It is unique in that it is the inspiration, design and decoration of one woman – Margaret Heathcote of Grange. She also designed two other buildings in the village, one of which also uses the external ‘dogtooth’ motif that is so characteristic of the church design. The designer also painted two large metal text panels and two wall texts in the church, making the church even more the unique product of a single mind and hand.
