There are important C12th architectural elements in the arched entrance doorway with carved tympanum and the narrow chancel arch with richly decorated shaft capitals. The general character of the church is multi-coloured stonework, a mixture of red sandstone and the buff calcareous sandstone. There is an early blocked priest door to the south side of the chancel with pointed arch and original hood moulding of differing coloured stone. There is indication that the church will have been lime washed. The church has been extensively restored in late C19th . The Victorian additions and repairs generally contribute to the overall architectural harmony of the building. Stained glass windows by Morris and Co. and other windows by E.R. Suffling and William Wailes.
