the Bible

following news that a Hotel has replaced the Bible with "50 Shades of Gray", the Diocese has released the following statement:

“50 Shades of Grey is all the rage this year but is likely to be a passing fad.
The Bible is a classic, shaped and reshaped by Jewish and Christian communities over many centuries; it is also an enduring source of comfort to travellers around the world and, we believe, the words of life. It also has a better love story in one of its books Song of Songs, from two and half thousand years ago.
It is unclear why anyone would think it appropriate to replace the latter with the former. We hope the hotel will continue to provide Bibles for guests.
