Archbishop of York to visit the Diocese of Carlisle

The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, is to make a two-day visit to Cumbria to see the work of the Diocese of Carlisle.

Dr Sentamu will be in the county on Wednesday 23rd January and Thursday 24th January.

On Wednesday he will tour the Diocese’s Rydal Hall in Ambleside as well as visiting the Priory Church in Cartmel. Later he will meet with directors and apprentices at the Lake District National Park Authority’s headquarters in Kendal.

On Thursday Dr Sentamu will visit a farm in Kirkoswald near Penrith to hear about the work of the Ecumenical Auction Mart Chaplaincy Team. That will be followed by a visit to Carlisle’s Trinity School to see newly finished building work and to meet with staff and pupils. Dr Sentamu’s visit will end at the University of Cumbria’s Fusehill campus, where he will take part in a question and answer session with students.
