The Rev'd Walter Wade

It is with sadness we inform you that on Monday 9th July, the Rev'd Walter Wade died peacefully after a long illness.

He served his curacy at St James, Carlisle, then after a first incumbency in the North East, returned to the parish of Moresby, Whitehaven. Following this, he became vicar of Holy Trinity Langdale.

Having felt his call to ministry at a Billy Graham rally, he trained at Oak Hill. Following his training, he served the Lord with gentleness, humility, passion and commitment alongside Ann, his wife, of many years.

Rev'd Wade was 88 when he died, having retired as the vicar of Langdale more than 20 years before. His family say that to the end of his days, he was a man of faith and prayer.

A service of Celebration and Thanksgiving will be held at St Kentigern’s Church, Caldbeck on Wednesday 18th July at 11am.
