UNDERSTANDING OUR PAST – DUFTON 23 March 2019 10am-3:30pm

A conference and field visit to learn about the research processes used to discover the past history of Dufton, its church and village. The processes are applicable to any location so will be of interest to groups thinking of undertaking work in the community. Led by people who have carried out the research this is an ideal opportunity to not only learn something of the story of this Fellside settlement but also to see the techniques used, including being able to get advice and use websites to carry out your own searches.

The conference will be based in Dufton Village Hall and include a visit to the church and surrounding area. Refreshments will be available. A nominal charge of £5 (non-returnable) is being made to cover expenses.
