Join the adventure at St Paul’s, Barrow-in-Furness!

We’re a growing church with a passion for Jesus, rooted in Scripture, open to the Spirit, and committed to serving our town with the good news. As part of The Cumbria Way – a bold, nationally funded diocesan programme to plant and revitalise churches – we’re looking for a Planting Curate to join our team and help establish a vibrant new worshipping community on the Newbarns estate.

St Paul’s is both a parish and resourcing church, drawing people from across Barrow and beyond. We keep things simple: we open the Bible, we pray, we worship, we serve, and we share Jesus – together. Our PCC is united in a generous but orthodox vision: warm-hearted, biblically faithful, pastorally sensitive, and open to the Spirit’s leading.

At the heart of this curacy lies the exciting opportunity to work alongside Revd Dr Sarah Richardson (Pioneer Minister for Newbarns) in planting at St Aidan’s, where shoots of new life are already emerging through youth gatherings, family socials, and community café ministry. You’ll also be part of a supportive clergy team led by Revd Robin Ham, with a proven track record of training curates in missional ministry.

Barrow is a place of grit and beauty: where shipyards meet seascapes, resilience meets humour, and the Lake District is just minutes away. It’s a community hungry for hope – and a brilliant place to serve, grow, and live.

Could God be calling you to join us?
