    Worship and Youth Minister

Ulverston Parish Church (St Mary with Holy Trinity), South Lakes, Cumbria

    • Are you a gifted worship leader with a heart for seeing young people come to know and follow Jesus?
    • Do you long to nurture the faith of young people, cultivate future leaders and enrich the worship life of a vibrant, growing church?

Ulverston Parish Church (UPC) is looking for a Worship and Youth Minister to join us in a dynamic leadership role split equally between Worship Ministry (50%) and Youth Ministry (50%). Our vision is to be a vibrant, growing church that exists to bring Ulverston to life, and this role will play a pivotal part in that.

Reporting to the Rector, you will lead musical worship at Sunday services and other church gatherings, recruiting, training and pastoring our volunteer musicians and AV teams and growing our worship repertoire. Alongside this, you will develop and lead a long-term strategy for discipling 11–18-year-olds – leading youth groups, services, clubs and outreach, building relationships with local secondary schools, and providing pastoral support and mentoring to young people.

We are looking for someone who is dynamic, approachable and pastoral, with experience of leading worship and working with young people, high proficiency in vocal leadership and a leading worship instrument (e.g. guitar or keys), and a sound understanding of safeguarding. You will be a resilient, teachable and mission-minded team builder. A full UK driving licence is required, and ideally, you will be willing to live locally.

This post is being offered as a full-time post of 35 hours per week (including Sundays and major Christian festivals) on a two-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of renewal. We welcome applications from candidates wishing to work on a full or part-time basis – please state in your application which you would prefer.

Salary £31,795 FTE, plus 15% non-contributory employer pension.

This post is subject to an occupational requirement that the postholder be a practising Christian under Part 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010, supportive of the CEEC Basis of Faith.

Closing date for Applications: 20th November 2026

Interviews: In the week beginning 30th November 2026
