Welcome to St John's Church. We see hospitality as key to our mission and would love to welcome you to join us for worship and our community events. If you are visiting for the first time, please introduce yourself to the person at the door and let us know if you have a particular need or if there is anything we can do to help you feel comfortable with us. We celebrated our Bicentennial last year, marking 200 years of worship and community at St John's.

Eucharist (Sung)
Eucharist in Church, during which Junior Church spend some time in activity in the adjoining Community Hall.
We have a small orchestra playing for our service, or our organist, on alternate weeks.
A family corner in church enables children to play in the presence of a responsible adult.
We offer a hot drink and conversation after the service in the Community Hall, please join us.

Green Space Friends
A volunteer group who seek to improve Workington's Green Spaces for nature and people. We currently work on Tuesday afternoons in St John's Churchyard or in Bankfield Mansion Gardens.

"Little Stars"
A parent and toddler group, meeting during school term time all year.

Warm Wednesdays
Our Community Hall hosts a drop in for a hot drink 10.45 to 12.45pm. A soup lunch is served for a donation between 11.45 and 12.30. A community choir meet regualrly 1pm to 3pm

This service is held in Church, and is followed by an open invitation to our Lunch Club, serving choice of soup & roll, cake and hot drink, served in the adjoining Community Hall.

1st Workington Scout Group - Beaver Colony
Beaver Scouts are young people usually aged between six and eight years old. They belong to the first and youngest Section in the Scouting family. Young people can join Beaver Scouts in the three months leading up to their sixth birthday. They can move to the next Section, Cub Scouts, between seven years and six months and eight years six months. We currently have a waiting list for new members.

1st Workington Scout Group - Cub Pack
Cub Scouts are young people usually aged between eight and ten years old. They can move to the next Section, Scouts, between ten and eleven years old.You will get a chance to try lots of different activities like swimming, music, exploring, computing and collecting. If you do them properly you will get a badge which you can wear on your uniform. Cub Scouts also get to go on trips and days out, to places like the zoo, theme parks or a farm. Sometimes you will be able to go camping with the rest of your Pack. This will mean you sleeping in a tent and doing loads of outdoor activities.
