Dean Carlisle, CA144TH

The parish of Dean: St Oswald is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer, PSO. The Diocese of Carlisle’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services. Our Parish Safeguarding Officer is Clare Chittenden, telephone number 01946 861089 who should be contacted regarding any concerns relating to children or vulnerable adults.
The PCC has adopted the Church Of England Policy "Promoting a Safer Church", a copy of which which can be viewed on the Church noticeboard or discussed with Clare.

We currently hold Sunday morning services on the second (Morning Prayer) and fourth Sunday (Holy Communion) each month, In December our Advent & Christmas celebrations will be focussed on our Community Carol Service with the Oswald Singers at 6.00 p.m. on Sunday 19th, our Christmas Eve Crib & Carol Service for all the family on 24th at 4.00 p.m. - simply the best way to start Christmas, our First Eucharist at 9.30 p.m. on 24th and our said Book of Common Prayer Holy Communion at 8.00 a.m. on Christmas Morning.

We look forward to seeing you in St Oswald's this Christmas - there's safe room for you. As we are all aware, Covid 19 has not gone away, so we will continue to follow UK Government guidelines to keep our Church "Covid safe" - sensible social distancing, hand sanitising and voluntary face covering etc. For those still cautious about larger gatherings, you are welcome to visit the crib in Church from Monday 20th to Thursday 23rd.
