We are an active church, at the heart of the community between Little and Great Broughton. The building dates back to 1856. We have Sunday services at 10.45am; and a midweek Communion service and coffee morning on Thursdays at 10am.

We have strong links with our local school, and are ever seeking new ways of engaging with our community.

Sunday

  • Sunday Worship

We meet at 10.45am on most Sunday mornings throughout the year. On the first Sunday of the month, we have an informal service, with children in mind; on 2nd and 4th Sundays, we have Holy Communion; and on 3rd Sundays, morning prayer. When there is a 5th Sunday, the churches of the Cockermouth Area Team gather together in one of our churches. Christening services are usually held, as required, at 12.30pm.

Every Sunday at 10:45 a.m. for 75 minutes

On a 5th Sunday in a month, the Cockermouth Area Churches meet together, taking it in turns to host.

    Common worship, Coffee

Monday

  • Lent meetings

There is something different about our prayer meetings during Lent 2019.
During Lent we are having weekly meetings, 7pm on Mondays to talk about Beautiful Witness. This is a series of videos, inviting us to think about how we can ‘bless’ our neighbourhood, and see more people discover for themselves the transforming power of God’s love.
    Everybody is welcome

Every Monday at 7 p.m. for 90 minutes

  • Prayer Meeting

About 10 of us meet every Monday evening in church for about 40 minutes. We reflect on the day together, sharing joys and sorrows; we give thanks for particular blessings. A feature of every meeting is when we stand together to bless our village: our neighbours, school, shops, farms and pubs.

Every Monday at 7 p.m. for 40 minutes

Thursday

  • Holy Communion

An informal service, usually led by local vicar Godfrey Butland, attended by about a dozen or more people. Most come from the village, but the service has also been attractive for others who like some quiet space and holy communion midweek. The service is followed by tea and coffee.

Every Thursday at 10 a.m. for 40 minutes

  • Coffee Morning

Open to everyone. You do not have to come to church services to be welcome.
This starts after Thursday Holy Communion Services, and is hosted in the community space at the back of the church.
