Morning Prayer and Holy Communion
Every 1st, 3rd and 5th Sunday of the month there are services of Morning prayer. On the second and fourth Sundays there is Holy Communion. (The only exception to this in 2019 is Sunday 20th January when all of us here are encouraged to meet together at the United service in St Mary's, Ambleside with brothers and sisters of all different denominations and pray together for unity.)
(NB There will be NO SERVICE here on Sunday 22nd January, because of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity)). This service is designed to appeal to a wide variety of people of all denominational backgrounds - partly because we are now the only Christian church which remains in this valley. We follow Lectionary readings, and aim to breathe new life into the traditional forms. Communion is served on the second and fourth Sundays of each month (as well as at Christmas, Maundy Thursday, Easter and Pentecost) and open to all who follow Jesus. There is a space at the back with toys and suitable books where parents can take younger children. Walkers are most welcome - as are stockinged feet if they feel boots are dirty. We regularly have dogs in the congregation. Light refreshments are served after each service to which all are most welcome.
