Archdeacons' Visitations

Once a year, churchwardens from each parish spend an evening with their local Archdeacon, talking as a group and individually about how things are going in their churches.

In advance of this, churchwardens fill in a form, called Articles of Enquiry, which gives the Archdeacon an idea of the parish’s mission initiatives, its commitment to deepening discipleship, and the names of various lay officers in the parish. This ensures that the conversation with the Archdeacon is an informed one.
