Orange Button Suicide Alertness Training
We are honoured to be working in partnership with Every Life Matters to host the Orange Button Training across our county.
On average one person dies by suicide every five days in Cumbria. But suicides are preventable and we can all learn lifesaving skills.
The Orange Button is a community of people trained in suicide awareness that have gained skills, including active listening, from quality assured training.
Find out more about Orange Button holders below
People who are having thoughts of suicide, or who are worried about a friend or family member, can now push the button when they see someone wearing a distinctive orange badge, and ask them for information and support.
The orange button is worn by people in Lancashire and South Cumbria who have undergone specialised suicide prevention training, and while they are not able to counsel people, they can provide comprehensive signposting to relevant services.
If you would like to attend, please book below where you will find further information from Every Life Matters regarding the content of the training. And please spread the word and encourage others to attend. Together. we can make a difference.
