Resources to help promote Farewill to your church
Farewill Poster
We encourage churches to display this poster in their church. It contains a link and a QR code, which takes you straight through to the Carlisle Diocese Farewill page. You may choose to display this poster all year round, but we particularly encourage churches to display the poster during October (when we encourage all church members to consider making and updating their Will) and during legacy week (Sunday 9 – Sunday 16 June 2024). We also encourage you to mention Farewill in your news and notices during this time. Click above to download.
Farewill Leaflet
As with the poster, these can be displayed in your church all year round but may be particularly useful during October (when we encourage church members to consider making or updating their Will) and during legacy week (Sunday 9 – Sunday 16 June 2024). The leaflet contains a link and a QR code, which takes you straight through to the Carlisle Diocese Farewill page. Again, please do draw people’s attention to these leaflets through your notices and news. Click above to download.
Writing your Will
Everyone knows it’s a good idea to make a will, but for many of us it’s one of those things we never quite get round to doing!
Making a Will and keeping it updated is the only way to make sure your wishes are carried out after your death, giving you peace of mind that you can continue to support the family, friends and charities you love.
There is no obligation for people using the service to leave a gift in their Will to their church as loved ones should always come first. However, we hope people will considering remembering their local church as every gift, great or small will make a real difference to our mission and ministry for future generations.
Who are Farewill?
The Church of England has partnered with Farewill, the National Will Writing Firm of the Year 2020, to offer church members the opportunity to write their Will for free (RRP £99).

Experiences from church members who have recently used Farewill to make their Will
“I made a new Will using Farewill following a change in my family circumstances. I was a little overwhelmed at the time by the many tasks which needed doing, but using Farewill was very straightforward and helped me to consider all of the things I should include and make provision for. The website is easy to navigate and the instructions are very clear. The whole experience was much easier than I had expected it to be. I would certainly recommend it to anyone.” Rev Andrew
“We knew we needed to get our Wills sorted, and Farewill offered a modern, simple and cost-effective solution. We were pleased with the ease with which we could enter and update our details, all from the comfort of our own home.” James and Victoria, local church members
